Dancers enjoy competition

Competition showcases talent.

The International Fine Arts Association recently held a competition at the Heartfelt Theatre in Pretoria where professional and amateur dancers and models could showcase their talent.

Participants could compete in either ballet, modern dancing, tap, acro/dance ballroom/Latin dancing, disco-jazz, hip hop/funk, freestyle, aerobics, adagio, open section or show modelling.

The best groups in the different styles, their coaches as well as overall winners were all awarded prizes and age groups varied between six to 35 years of age.

The IFAA Dance Grand Prix was assessed by six judges including two international judges Charles Fridsma from the Netherlands and Alejandro Rayes from Mexico. The award ceremony was handled by actress Hildegardt Whites, Bonita in 7de laan.

The group of pupils from Laerskool Tygerpoort, coached by Melinda Brummer scored 84.5% in the Fusion category.
