Meet the dancing sisters

Two sisters competed in a prestigious dance competition in Boston.

Two talented sisters from the Sheila Flaherty Dance Studio, Shandre (10) and Dayna Forbay (8) recently represented South Africa with distinction at the American Dance Awards National Championships in Boston.

In the solo category, Shandre scored first place in the overall high score junior within the entire primary level competition, fifth overall in her age group and won as category winner.

Dayna scored gold as a solo participant as well.

Together, Shandre and Dayna qualified for the Junior Dance-Offs.

In the beginning of October the girls took part in the Dance Star South Africa qualifiers and qualified to represent South Africa once again as part of the Dance Star South African Team.

This time it will be at the ESDU Dance Star Finals and World Dance Masters competition in Croatia during May 2015.

The estimated cost is R30 000 per child and sponsorships are desperately needed. For more information, phone Deidre on 082-929-0241 or Shane on 082-889-2353.
