Mamelodi ward councillor Moses Phasha has wished all residents a peaceful Christmas and New Year.
He said in his message the first wisdom was the fear of God.
“In all our wishes this festive season, we must ask God for blessings to see our dreams come true,” Phasha said.
“The community must drink responsibly and most importantly do not drink and drive. Arrive alive. We need you next year. You are important in our lives. We cannot live without you. As councillors we value the residents of this township. Mamelodi is a peaceful area and it needs to be taken care of.”
Phasha said 2015 would be an important year, and a time to prepare for local government elections in 2016. “We prepare together with the residents. Go and enjoy the festive season safely.”
His message to the youth was to always be careful when engaging in relationships because HIV/Aids remained a real threat.
“Elderly people or people who always take medication for chronic diseases must make sure they have all their medicines before they go on holiday,” Phasha said.
