Eskom advises on Christmas light displays
Eskom advises residents to use power sparingly when they display Christmas lights around their homes.

Eskom has urged the public to use electricity sparingly when displaying Christmas lights around their homes during the festive season.
“We are not dictating how people should celebrate the festive season, however, they should compensate by switching off other non-essential appliances, geysers and pool pumps to avoid running everything at the same time,” an Eskom media representative told Rekord.
Meanwhile, the power utility said there was a low risk of load shedding this festive season, however, power systems remain constraint. “If we lose any of our generating units or electricity usage increases, it will increase the risk of load shedding. However, we are hoping not to implement load shedding this festive season.”
