No load shedding expected
Eskom says no load shedding is expected this week, but the power system remains under pressure.

No deliberate power cuts were expected this week, Eskom said on Monday after warning last week that load shedding would not end anytime soon.
“The power system remains constrained at this stage but there is no indication of load shedding this week,” said Eskom’s media desk representative.
The parastatal said the risk of load shedding remained as unexpected hitches could disrupt power supply.
Last week, Eskom CEO Tshediso Matona said Eskom was behind with maintenance, comparing the power utility to a car that had not been serviced.
“The metaphor of a car is very useful. If you continue to drive a car without maintaining it, it will carry you but at some point it breaks down. I think this is what is happening with many generating units at Eskom,” he said.
