Man killed in love triangle dispute
A man killed himself after wounding his ex-wife's boyfriend in Rooihuiskraal North on Monday morning, police said.
A Centurion man killed himself on Monday morning after seriously wounding his ex-wife’s boyfriend, police said.
Spokesperson Sergeant Ann Poortman said this happened at Wierdaglen Villa in Rooihuiskraal North around 05:15.
“The ex-husband went to his ex-wife’s house and found her with her new boyfriend. He shot the boyfriend twice before turning the gun on himself. He then shot himself in the head.”
Poortman said the man died on the scene while the boyfriend was hit in the chest and upper left arm.
“The boyfriend was taken to Kalafong Hospital and is in a critical condition.”
Residents said they were woken by hysterical screams from a woman followed by gunshots.
“I heard a woman screaming like crazy and a total of three gunshots straight afterwards. My husband and I went to check and we saw two guys lying in a pool of blood,” said a neighbour who asked not to be named.
Poortman said an inquest had been opened and an attempted murder was being investigated.
