Filling station robber accused of rape
The man that robbed a filling station in Clubview recently, was arrested for allegedly raping a young woman.

The man that single-handedly robbed the Clubview Shell filling station with a shotgun about two weeks ago, was arrested for apparently raping a woman a week later, police said.
Captain Agnes Huma, Wierdabrug police spokesperson, said the 25-year-old rape victim claimed the 27-year-old alleged robber raped her at the Mnandi plots near Olievenhoutbosch last Friday (30 January).
Huma said the woman claimed he asked her for a place to sleep and she agreed.
“The woman told police the man entered her bedroom around 03:30 and raped her,” Huma said.
“She opened a case at the police station the following day and community members assisted the police in arresting the man the same day.”
This follows a week after the man apparently robbed the filling station on the Old Johannesburg Road.
Video footage of the balaclava-wearing robber went viral.
He is seen on closed circuit television cameras entering the convenience store around 20:40 and leaving it about 30 seconds later.
Johan Fourie, assistant manager at the filling station, said the man ordered the cashier to stop what he was doing and to move aside. He casually opened the till and took about R2 000.
He fled the scene in a blue vehicle, believed to have been a Ford Fiesta.
Huma said through thorough investigation, police managed to link the man to the business robbery at the filling station.
She said he appeared in court on Monday on charges of business robbery and rape. He was denied bail.
