Money for science laboratory

England school donates money to build a science laboratory at Bajabulile primary school.

Tuichenham Academy, a United Kingdom school, donated R200 000 on Tuesday to complete the science technology laboratory at Bajabulile primary school.

With this laboratory Bajabulile primary school will be the first in Mamelodi to have such a facility. The construction of the laboratory started last year and will be finished by the end of this month.

John Baumber, one of the main sponsors, said: “It all started four years ago when I visited the school and asked the former principal, Peter Moabelo, what they needed at the school. The principal said, a science laboratory. We started raising money from schools in the UK and some from our own pockets.”

Moabelo thanked Tuichenham Academy for the science laboratory and encouraged them to continue helping the community.

“The science laboratory will not only help pupils to get the best quality education, but benefit the community at large,” said Moabelo.

Acting principal Queen Chimeloane thanked Tuichenham Academy for the generous donation and pupils entertained the guests with traditional dance and aerobics.
