No rest for metro police during Easter weekend

Drugs to the value of R2 760 were removed off the streets of Olievenhoutbosch during a Tshwane metro police patrol.

The Tshwane metro police have arrested 10 people in Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion, for dealing in drugs or for being in the possession of such substances.

Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said four metro officers patrolling that area made the arrests on Good Friday.

He said on Saturday heroine to the value of R1820, dagga to the value of R900 and Nyaope to the value of R40 were removed from the streets.

“Even though there was just four members on duty for the shift, the team still proved that successes will continue to be made during the long weekend,” he said.

He said some of the arrests also related to the possession of burglary tools.
