Police are looking for two armed men who allegedly robbed a shop in Soshanguve and stole R40 000 in cash.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said two armed men came into Duduza Warehouse and tied up the two men, Pakistan nationals, who worked in the store, before stealing money from the shop.
“The men were in the adjoining kitchen. One man asked the other to get water for him from the shop, which is in the adjoining room. When the man walked into the shop, he was met by two armed men who told him to lie on the floor. The other man from the store came to check up on his friend, but he was also told to lie down. The suspects demanded money from the men while they beat them. The suspects managed to get away with R40 000 in cash,” he said
Mangena said the victim saw about 11 more men outside the shop when he looked through the window seconds after the suspects had exited the building. It is believed they accompanied the two suspects who held the men up. A case of robbery has been opened at the Soshanguve police station.
