A man has been electrocuted while trying to steal copper cables in Pretoria West, police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said.
He said the man was found dead on Monday around 09:00 by a municipal worker at a power station on Mitchell Street.
“Police arrived to find copper cable cutters lying next to his body,” Moloto said.
Moloto could not confirm the time of death nor the man’s age.
“Police have opened an inquest docket.”
