The trial of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese was postponed again on Wednesday for further investigation.

Lebese was arrested in February for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in Silverton. He was later released on R1000 bail.

According to media reports, Lebese looked calm when he made a brief appearance on Wednesday morning in the Pretoria’s Magistrate’s Court.

The 26-year old helped his club Chiefs win their fourth Absa Premier League title and scored seven league goals in the process.

Lebese, who’s currently out on bail, faces charges of assault and malicious damage to property. He would be back in court in July, but the exact date of his next appearance was not given.
