Pull Together FC lost to Zebra Force FC 2-1 in a Mabopane derby clash during the Sasol Women’s League at Giant stadium, Soshanguve Block X last Saturday.

Zebra Force FC conceded the first goal in the 22nd minute from a goal by Pull Together striker Letty Vukeya. Zebra Force trailed by one goal going into halftime.

The Zebras came back strongly in the second half with a powerful header in the 49th minute from captain Bongiswa Magcwebeba. Rosemary Molekudu sealed the win with a long-range shot in the last minutes of the game.

“It was a difficult game, because both teams played for pride. They were all over us in the first half, but we came back well-organised in the second half. I am glad we won the match,” Magcwebeba said.

Pull Together’s second loss of the season meant they dropped to fifth place. The Zebras climbed to second spot on the log. Pull Together FC will play Home Sweepers FC, while Zebra Force FC faces Katlehong Ladies FC on Saturday 23 May at Katlehong stadium.
