Carel van Niekerk, who matriculated from Southdowns College in 2012, has received recognition from the faculty of natural and agricultural sciences at the University of Pretoria (UP) for achieving an average of 85% in his final year. Van Niekerk is currently completing his third and final year of a BSc actuarial and mathematics degree at UP and is ranked at number 19 on the list of top 30 BSc undergraduate students.
This position has earned him a spot on the Dean’s merit list.
Last year UP had over 7 000 BSc undergraduate students.
