POWER UPDATE: Load shedding already implemented on Friday
Load shedding Stage 1 and 2 have just been implemented on Friday.
Eskom has announced that Stage 1 load shedding started at 08:00 on Friday morning and will continue until 14:00. Stage 2 load shedding will then commence from 14:00 until 22:00 on Friday evening.

Eskom has announced that Stage 1 load shedding started at 08:00 on Thursday morning and will continue until 14:00. Stage 2 load shedding will then commence from 14:00 until 22:00 on Thursday evening.
People across the country are critically urged to switch off any unnecessary electrical appliances.

Eskom regrets to announce that Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 to 17:00.
Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 17:00 until 22:00.

Eskom has announced that it will implement Stage 1 load shedding at 16:00 and then move to Stage 2 at 17:00 until 22:00 this evening. This is due to a shortage of generating capacity as several units are currently out of service due to maintenance.
Customers are urged to urgently switching off geysers, air conditioners, pool pumps & non-essential appliances to reduce electricity demand.
