Water interruptions in the north

Water supply could be interrupted in the north on Saturday.

The Tshwane metro council has warned residents of the north to prepare themselves for possible water shortage on Saturday due to maintenance.

Spokesperson Selby Bokaba said water supply could be interrupted due to scheduled maintenance work as the Roodeplaat water treatment plant will be shut down to work on the supply line to the Montana Reservoir.

“The water supply to the areas that are serviced by Montana Reservoir should not be interrupted as the Garsfontein reservoir system will be available for back-up,” he said.

He said should the back-up fails to cope, then water supply interruption might happen.

Areas which will be affected are:

• Montana

• Doornpoort

• Magalieskruin

• Sinoville

• Wonderboom North

“The [metro] wants to assure the residents of the above-mentioned areas that any interruption that may arise during the maintenance will be immediately dealt with to avoid any inconvenience.”
