Road open after protest

The Van der Hoff Road en route to Hartbeespoort is now open to motorists.

The Van der Hoff Road en route to Hartbeespoort for Pretoria motorists was reopened to traffic after protesters barricaded it earlier in the day.

Harro Rust, chairperson of the Hartbeespoort sector 1 rural security, said mayor Matshidiso Mangoathe of the Madibeng municipality visited the irate formal and informal settlers to discuss the way forward.

“The protesters departed peacefully and the road is open to motorists,” Rust said.
