A man died after he was robbed and stabbed in Soshanguve, Block GG, at the weekend, police said on Monday.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said a 29-year-old man was stabbed several times while on his way home on Saturday night. He succumbed to his wounds in a clinic.

“The clinic called the police to inform them about a man that was stabbed. When they arrived at the clinic, police found the body of a man on a stretcher with blood everywhere. The body had an open wound to the head, two open wounds on the left thigh and one wound on the left shoulder,” he said.

Mangena said the man was alive when he was admitted to the clinic.

“Family members believed that the deceased’s cellphone and other things were stolen during the robbery,” he said.

A murder docket was opened at the Soshanguve police station.
