POWER UPDATE: Stage 2 load shedding implemented on Friday
Load shedding has escalated to Stage 2 on Friday.
Eskom has implemented Stage 2 load shedding on Friday morning. Load shedding is likely to last until 22:00 tonight. Eskom says the Stage 2 load shedding is due to an increased demand and a shortage of generation capacity.

Eskom has confirmed that load shedding will move from Stage 1 to Stage 2 at 16:00 on Thursday. Load shedding is expected to last until 22:00 this evening. According to the power provider, this is due to increased electricity demand due to a cold front that is currently making its way through the country.
