Curro Thatchfield Independent School challenged its learners to come to school without their shoes.
This was in honour of National Barefoot Day where the learners would experience what it is like to be a young underprivileged child with no shoes, in the middle of freezing winter.
The learners each brought a pair of shoes which Curro donated to the Potato Foundation for distribution to worthy causes. Said Executive Head, Marlene Gerber: “Our parents’ support was fantastic and we collected over a 2 000 pairs of shoes.”
