Lyttelton police bust drug dealer
Yet another success for the Lyttelton police station
Lyttelton police have made another successful arrest in their fight against crime when they arrested a man in possession of 15 balls of Cat.
According to Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu the bust was made on Monday.
“One of our officers, sergeant CT Qhelo, was patrolling when he noticed a man walking past his car next to the road. Sergeant Qhelo thought it looked suspicious and turned his vehicle around to approach the man.”
Officer Qhelo spoke to the man, before searching him. “When the officer searched the 32-year-old man he found 15 large balls of the drug Cat, worth thousands of rands, R400 in cash and two cell phones on the man,” said Gumbu.
The man was arrested and charged at the station with possession of drugs. “The man is due to appear in court soon,” added Gumbu.
Gumbu again asked the public to join in the fight against crime. “If residents see anything suspicious they should phone the police station and report it. Drugs destroy communities and we are rooting them out.”
