Woman critical after being stabbed
Woman critical after being stabbed on Friday evening in the lifts of a building at Menlyn.
A 29-year-old woman was found in a critical condition after she was stabbed on Friday night in a lift at the Menlyn Corporate Building.
Police confirmed that a 34-year old man was arrested shortly after the stabbing that occurred at the building, situated in Waterkloof Glen.
According to police spokesman Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu, the man will appear in court soon on a charge of attempted murder.
Santi Steinmann, Netcare 911 spokesperson, said paramedics and other emergency services personnel arrived at the scene where they found a woman in a critical condition.
“The woman sustained critical stabbing wounds during the incident.”
She said the woman, whose identity had not yet been released, was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required.
“The exact detail surrounding the cause of the stabbing incident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation,” said Steinmann.
