Part of the Riverside Castle wedding and function venue in Lynnwood Road burned down on Saturday evening.
Tshwane Emergency Services (TES) extinguished the fire, which seemed to have occurred at one of the main venue halls of the venue.
Johan Pieterse, spokesperson for TES, said that three stations and a water tank from Tshwane were on the scene.
“When TES arrived, the roof of the building had already collapsed,” Pieterse said.
“Though there was a function going on at the time the fire broke out, the guests were evacuated and no one was injured during the fire.”
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Pieterse advises Pretoria residents to take care and be alert when using heaters or fireplaces during the winter months.
