Power restored in affected areas
Centurion power restored after it was affected by cable theft and negligence.
Power had been restored to all affected areas of Centurion that were left without power since Friday morning due to cable theft and negligence.
DA councillor of ward 70 Marika Kruger said power had been restored to Heuweloord at 23:00 on Friday and the power in Raslouw and other connecting areas had been restored at 04:00 on Saturday.
Centurion residents were left in the dark on Friday when cables were stolen on two consecutive days in the Raslouw area. Kruger said the reasons for the theft could be attributed to faulty streetlights that leaves the area vulnerable to criminal elements.
Heuweloord experienced a power outage due to the negligence of a building contractor who damaged one of the feeder cables. These damaged cables had been replaced.
