Parts of Pretoria East without water

A burst 350mm UPVC pipe causes water supply problems in parts of Pretoria East.

Parts of Pretoria East were without water on Thursday afternoon, the Tshwane metro said.

The interruption of the water supply was due to a burst pipe on the corner of VilleBois Mareuil and Hesketh streets in Moreleta Park.

The affected suburbs are Moreleta Park, Elardus Park, Mooikloof and Erasmuskloof.

“Technicians are already on site and will work overnight to repair the pipe,” said metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

The water supply was expected to be restored by Friday morning.

“The water reservoir had to be closed to enable technicians to do repair work on the burst pipe.”

Mashigo said two water tanks had been placed on the corners of Boeing and Piering streets and Delmas and Pering streets.

“We apologise to all our customers who have been inconvenienced by the interruption.”
