NEWSFLASH: Armed robbery at Clicks in Silverwater Crossing centre
Clicks at Silverwater Crossing robbed by five men who fled the scene in a white Ford Ranger.
Police are searching for five armed robbers who raided Clicks at the Silverwater crossing shopping centre, Silverton in the east of Pretoria on Sunday morning.
The men apparently walked into the store and demanded money, police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Mbewe said.
“They fled the scene in a white Ford Ranger with an undisclosed amount of money and staff cell phones. There were no injuries during the robbery or shots fired. Police are investigating a case of business robbery,” he said.
A resident in the area who had been at Silverwater Crossing shopping centre on Sunday morning said she had been shopping at Clicks a few minutes before the robbery took place.
“I went to Pick n Pay after leaving Clicks and when I was done there a car guard told me that Clicks had been robbed at gunpoint a few minutes ago. I was so shocked,” Nadia Weeber said.
Weeber said one of the people who had been inside Clicks during the robbery said the robbers cleaned out the cash registers, told people to lie on the floor and pointed guns at them while gathering their belongings.
Mbewe asked the public to provide them with any information about the robbery.
