Three men arrested after hot pursuit by police
Three men were arrested on Tuesday afternoon, after a brief chase in South street.

Three men were arrested in possession of a stolen vehicle on South Street, Centurion, police said on Wednesday.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu said around 13:30 on Tuesday afternoon, police gave chase after they tried to stop the motorist who sped off.
“Police were patrolling around the Netcare Unitas hospital which is regarded as a hotspot for vehicle theft,” Gumbu said.
They noticed a black Mercedes Benz driving at a slow speed. When the driver realised police were behind him, he accelerated rapidly and skipped traffic lights trying to get away.
Gumbu said police called for backup and continued the pursuit. Within minutes a chopper was in the air assisting in the chase.
One of the police vehicles blocked off South Street where they made the arrest.
The men were taken to the Lyttelton police station.
One of the men has a pending motor vehicle theft charge against him.
Gumbu said the Mercedes was suspected to be linked to numerous ATM card fraud, but police were still to confirm.
“They will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Gumbu.
