Third bomb threat at High Court
Police have cleared the North Gauteng High Court on Friday after yet another bomb threat.
The North Gauteng High Court was evacuated on Friday morning after receiving yet another bomb threat.
The court’s Chief of Security Themba Xulu said the threat came from the Law Society of the Northern Provinces adjacent from the High Court, however, the buildings were cleared.
“Police advised that the High Court be evacuated as well as the Law Society. No bomb was found. It was a hoax threat,” he told Rekord.
This was the third bomb scare at the High Court this year.
“We have been receiving several threats but we have to be cautious at all times. Even if the building is cleared, we need to treat this seriously.”
In August, police and the bomb squad cleared the high court after they received anonymous calls from a woman of a bomb scare.
Another bomb threat was cleared in May.
