Foreign nationals detained for perjury
Police arrested two men after they failed a lie-detector test when they opened a false hijacking case.

Two Zimbabwean nationals are to appear in court soon after they were arrested for perjury this week, Silverton police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato said.
Sepato said the two, who worked for a transport company, laid a false hijacking case last week.
“It is alleged they made a delivery and were later requested by someone else to make another delivery, but the second delivery was not authorised,” Sepato said.
So the men allegedly devised a scheme to rather report their truck was hijacked on the corner of Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Old Bronkhorstspruit Road last week.
But upon further investigation, police disproved this, he said.
“People, in the vicinity, were interviewed and no one knew of any hijacking,” said Sepato.
After subjecting both men to a polygraph test, police discovered they were involved in the disappearance of the truck.
Sepato could not confirm whether the truck had been sold or not.
“Both were arrested for perjury on Tuesday.
They will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.”
