Three caught with stolen truck

Police arrest three on Wednesday afternoon in possession of a stolen cigarette truck, in Pretoria West.

Three men were caught with a stolen truck in their possession in Pretoria West on Wednesday.

Central police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the cigarette truck was reported stolen in Mabopane in the morning.

Police where alerted to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

She said a tactical response team member identified the truck as it was travelling through Pretoria West and alerted police.

“Three of the men aged between 25 and 32, were arrested in Charlotte Maxeke Street. One was taken by police back to Mabopane to find the missing cigarettes reported to have been in the truck.”

Selepe said police still had to confirm how the three men got hold of the truck.

The men would be detained at the Pretoria West police station as the investigation was continuing.

“Police are still at the scene and we would provide a more detailed report once we have more information,” said Selepe.
