Robber wounded in Elardus Park

A man was shot, with two arrested after an armed robbery in Elardus Park after an attempted robbery.

An intruder was shot and wounded during a house robbery in Elardus Park on Wednesday morning.

Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu said three men gained entry into the yard of the house in Britstone Street.

“A young 17-year-old girl saw the men and alerted Bull Security.”

Gumbu said by the time Bull Security arrived at the scene, the men were inside the house.

Shots were fired between the three men and Bull Security and one of the robbers was hit.

Two men were arrested by police and Netcare 911 arrived and took the other man to a local hospital.

Gumbu said an official report would be issued after police where done at the scene of the attempted robbery.

Bull security spokesperson JP Griesel said Bull Security arrived at a house where they found three men.

In a shootout between the robbers and Bull Security officials, one of the robbers was shot.

Lyttelton Police, Directorate of Specialized Security, Bull Security and Netcare 911 were on the scene.
