Police have launched a manhunt for four armed men who shot and wounded three people during a business robbery in Olievenhoutbosch on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the four robbers began shooting randomly as they were fleeing the scene.
“It is alleged that four armed men entered a shop at 19:30 while the owner was busy serving customers. The suspects pointed firearms at the owner, his employees and customers and demanded money,” he said.
Moloto said the four men took an undisclosed amount of cash before firing random shots inside the store as they fled.
“Three people were shot and wounded and were taken to a nearby hospital,” he said.
Moloto said what led to the shooting would become clear only after the police investigation has been completed.
A case of robbery was opened.
