Clampdown on crime in the east

Bull Security and Garsfontein police making progress in the fight against crime.

In another team effort to curtail crime in the east of Pretoria, Bull Security and Garsfontein police swooped on lawlessness on Friday and Saturday.

Bull Security spokesperson JP Griesel said the focus was illegal immigrants and illegal street vendors in Faerie Glen and Moreleta Park.

He said several illegal immigrants were arrested and illegal street vendors removed from the street. At least 15 arrests were made.

“Some of the people tested our fitness when they ran away, but we were able to catch them in the end,” said Griesel.

After the swoop, the security officers from Bull and members of the Faerie Glen community policing forum did a mass patrol through the neighbourhood, combing it for criminal activity.

Another spokesperson for Bull, French Jooste, described the operations as a success.

“We salute each and every one who was part of this operation,” said Jooste.
