Telkom offices robbed at gunpoint

Four armed men make off with load of cellphones.

The Telkom offices in Highveld were robbed of cellphones worth R200 000 at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon.

Police spokesperson Captain Koba Brits said four armed men stormed into the Telkom building in Techno Park around 15:05.

They held up staff members who were attending to clients.

“The men shouted that it was an armed robbery,” said Brits.

“They then forced the staff and clients through a back door at gunpoint.”

The robbers grabbed the cellphones and sped off.”

They were driving a black BMW 3 Series.

Police urged anyone with information on the matter to call Lyttelton police station on 012-644-8600.
