Crime fighting app is now active and available for Pretoria residents
Available and active to fight crime.
The Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) said the crime fighting Namola app is now active and available for use by residents.
“Crime fighting app Namola is now active and available for free download,” said TMPD.
The Namola app which can be used on smartphones and any other enabled device will help residents of Pretoria get police assistance faster and efficiently.
The app works when a citizen sends out an alert to the TMPD which will enable officers to respond to the alert by seeing the exact location of the incident.
TMPD spokesperson Phindile Molefe said they had done testing of the Namola app in certain areas such as Moreleta and Danville, Pretoria and “the results were satisfactory.”
The metro police have urged citizens not to test the app out, as it worked and was for use of real emergencies.
The Namola app does work, we urge people not to play with it thus sending false alarm. Please do not test it out @CityTshwane
