NEWSFLASH: Body found in Eersterust
“Paramedics were called to the scene by police, they confirmed that the man had died”.
A man was found dead in Eersterust on Monday morning.
Eersterust police spokesperson sergeant Sam Shibambo said people passing by Sionsberg discovered the body around 06:45.
The man was believed to have been between 28 and 31 years old.
“Passers-by saw the body and informed us. When we rushed to the scene, we called paramedics who confirmed that the man had died,” Shibambo said.
The man’s body was sent to the government mortuary for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
Shibambo urged anyone with information on the matter to notify the police.
“Members of the public can contact us [the police], if they chose to remain anonymous we will gladly protect their identities. Kindly contact the Eersterust police station should you have information,” he said.
