VIDEO: Father’s love for child gets him assaulted

A man was assaulted for wanting to be with his child during a consultation with a doctor at a Mamelodi hospital.

A Mamelodi man is outraged after he was assaulted for trying to be a good father.

Tlotlo Thuo Ntehelang and the mother of his child had taken their child to the doctor at Mamelodi hospital but according to hospital policy, a patient can only be accompanied by one person into the consulting room.

When Ntehelang refused to leave his wife and child alone with the doctor, security guards were called in to throw him out.

“I was physically assaulted by security guards at the Mamelodi public hospital (A.k.a DAGGA) for wanting to be a full-time parent to my kid,” he posted on his Facebook page along with a video of the assault.

The video clip has since gone viral.

“I was manhandled out of the public hospital like a criminal, if not some disgusting animal, for wanting to play my role in parenting my child,” he said adding he had the same right to be present as the mother of his child did.

An enquiry has been sent to the department of health.
