NEWSFLASH: Baby found dead

School children spotted a new born baby dumped in a river.

A new-born baby was found dead in a stream dividing Mamelodi West and East on Monday afternoon.

The school children who were returning from school around 2.30pm spotted the baby lying in the water.

They stopped a Tshwane metro vehicle, which alerted the police about the discovery in Tsomo Street.

The baby was taken by paramedics for a post mortem to determine the cause of death.

Police said the infant was found next to Tsako Thabo Secondary School.

The police were investigating.
