Family still searching for daughter
It is rumoured that Blessing has been seen in Eersterus.
The Chinavhu family are still searching for their daughter Blessing (15) who went missing on 16 December last year.
The family, who is from Zimbabwe but live in Mamelodi, reported their daughter missing at Mamelodi West police station in December, and contacted Rekord for help in finding her.
Tinashe Chivanhu (35), Blessing’s father, told Rekord that Blessing had just arrived in South Africa from Zimbabwe to help look after her siblings as schools had closed for the Christmas holidays.
He said he’d recently heard rumours that his daughter was seen in Eersterust but when he went there, he could not find her.
He described her daughter as a loving person.
“I am not sure where my daughter is. Life is not the same without her at home,” said Tinashe.
Blessing was doing very well at school and passed grade 7 in Zimbabwe.
“I am not sure if my daughter is still alive or not. My daughter please come back home. If there is something that is bothering you, please come back home I am sure we can fix it,” he said.
Mamelodi West police spokesperson Captain Johannes Maheso confirmed that a missing person’s case was reported to the station and the police were still investigating.
Mamelodi East police were also searching for Portia Raliphada (9).
Portia was last seen on 27 February, and her grandmother reported her missing the next day.
Mamelodi East police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Mbewe said the police were still investigating.
