SA Olympics glory hinges on Dolly
Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keagan Dolly would be key if SA football team are to bag a medal at the Rio Olympics.
Mamelodi Sundowns forward Keagan Dolly carries the hopes of South Africa’s under-23 team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
If the team are to get a medal, he would need to take his A-game to Brazil next month.
The Pretoria-based player has had a marvellous year so far in helping his Sundowns to a double.
The 23-year-old winger is the spine of the team.
The under-23 open their Olympics quest against Brazil then play Denmark and later Iraq in the group stages.
The under-23 team are brimming with confidence after winning the Cosafa Cup last month in Namibia.
Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba took a gamble by fielding the young team in the tournament but after a slow start, the side went on to lift the title.
Dolly has played continental football with both the national side and Sundowns and his experience would prove vital.
Other experienced players Gift Motupa and Menzi Masuku are also licking their lips in anticipation.
