Sport Highlights 8 – 10 July
The excitement of the Wimbledon finals and SupeRugby action at Loftus Versfeld are some of the weekend highlights to look out for.

With looming cold weather sport fans will probably prefer to follow the weekend’s action on TV. But for Pretoria fans this weekend will be the final opportunity this year to see the Bulls in action at Loftus Versfeld.
Rugby
Although chances are slim that the Bulls could still make the play-off rounds of the SupeRugby tournament, Nollis Marais said this week they would like to conclude the season at Loftus Versfeld with scintillating rugby. In their final home appearance of the season the team will play against the Sunwolves of Japan on Saturday. The game starts at 17:05.
* Lovers of schools rugby can look forward to the Craven week, which starts on Monday, 11 July. All the games will be played at Kearsney College in Durban, but SuperSport will broadcast a lot of the action.
Cricket
Although the official cricket season in South Africa is done and dusted there is still a lot of cricket action in store.
The South African u.19 team is currently on tour in Sri Lanka and this Saturday they will play in their first one-day game against their Sri Lankan counterparts.
Another national South African team, the SA A-team is in Zimbabwe where they will play a four-day game against the Zimbabwean A-team. This game starts on Saturday 9 July and it is supposed to end on Tuesday 12 July.
Tennis
The action at Wimbledon is also moving to a climax with the women and men’s finals on the menu this weekend. The women’s final will once again be played this Saturday, while the men’s final is scheduled for Sunday.
Athletics
The Mooikloof Realtors Winter half marathon and 10km run take place this weekend on Saturday, 9 July. It is presented by the Wingate club and the race starts and ends at Laerskool Garsfontein . The event consists of a 21.1km half marathon, a 10km road race and a 5km fun run. The first two races start at 07:00, while the fun run will be set off at 07:20.
