Mnyamane jumps the ship

Soccer player Thabo Mnyamane has switched from University of Pretoria to Supersport United.

Local soccer player Thabo Mnyamane has completed a move from University of Pretoria to Supersport United ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season next month.

The player confirmed to Rekord on Friday, that he was now a Matsatsantsa player.

“I can confirm that I’m with Supersport United, and the move was completed last week Friday,” he said.

He didn’t say why he chose Supersport after it was speculated that big teams Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates were after his signature.

The left-footed 23-year-old striker starred for Amatuks last season, before they were relegated to the National First Division.

Now in the colours of Supersport, he would compete for a place upfront with Jeremy Brockie, Bradley Grobler and Kingston Nkhatha.

Mnyamane becomes the fifth new face at Supersport after the club signed Cole Alexander, Keegan Ritchie, Reyaad Pieterse and Reneilwe Letsholonyane in the transfer period.
