Woman talks about private pic

Margharet van Wyk begs social media users to stop sharing a private photo she accidentally sent to the wrong address.

A mother has spoken of her anguish after a picture of her private parts accidentally went viral this week.

“I have to go live in the Kruger Park, because it’s the only place where people won’t recognise me,” Margharet van Wyk told East Coast Radio in an interview.

She said she was approached by “naughty magazines” at her office.

“I go to church… and I have children… this photo was not meant for other people…”

Van Wyk transmitted the photo meant for her husband by accident to a Whatsapp hockey-group.

She was quick to apologise to the group and to explain that the picture was meant for her husband, but to no avail.

Someone in the group leaked the photo on social media platforms and it went viral overnight.

Van Wyk told the radio station: “I’m hysterical.”

She said the “personal” photo that was shared had caused her and her husband a great deal of embarrassment.

She expressed alarm at some of the reactions she got from people who saw the photo.

“I was at the office and there was a guy who was looking at the phone and he was scratching the screen… and the way they were looking at me…” she explained in a rush.

The tearful Van Wyk begged social media users to remove and stop sharing the picture, saying: “It has been the most difficult time.”
