Shirinda Primary School was a hive of activity with budding entrepreneurs eager to turn their sense into rand for Entrepreneurs’ day on Friday.
The grade 7 pupils who take economic and management sciences, sold a variety of items to fellow pupils and teachers as part of their curriculum.
The pupils were supported by the whole school and the educators.
Principal, Lawrence Mukhari said: “The pupils first wrote an exam about the entrepreneurship and today is the practical and they are divided into five groups of five,” said Mukhari.
“They will then be scored and the mark will go into their third term examination, and be added to their final [term] mark.”
He said the aim of the day was to help pupils know how to market and run a business.
The pupils were expected to conduct a market survey to find out what would sell then set up stalls outside their classes to sell.
Mukhari said the school would also benefit from the day.
“The money raised will be used on the school’s needs,” said Mukhari.
