Three arrested of drugs charges

Stop and search operation led to the arrest of three suspects.

The Mamelodi East police arrested three suspects in possession of saga on dagga on Friday.

The three are aged between 20 and 27, said Mamelodi East police spokesperson, Captain Michael Mbewe.

“The suspects were arrested in a stop and search operation in SNS,” said Mbewe.

“We believe that we might have arrested dagga dealers.”

Mbewe could not confirm the street value of the dagga seized.

The suspects are facing charges of possession of and dealing dagga.

Mbewe further said the such operations would continue until Mamelodi was a dagga-free zone and dealers must know the police were coming for them.

He pleaded with the public to report any information about dagga and drug dealers in Mamelodi to the police by calling 08600-10111.

The suspects will soon appear before in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court.
