Man arrested for shooting a friend
The two men were at a house in Extension V around 02:00 when the incident happened.
A 37-year-old man was arrested after he fatally shot his friend in Soshanguve.
Police spokesperson, Seargent Thembi Nowathe said the two men were at a house in Extension V around 02:00 on Saturday.
The two began to argue then the spat turned physical, and the man allegedly took out a gun and pulled the trigger.
Nowathe said the man was arrested after the deceased’s girlfriend identified him.
“The woman told police the man had just shot and killed her boyfriend. The police searched the man and found an unlicensed firearm on him with several rounds of ammunition,” said Nowathe.
“The body was found with an open wound in the back of the head. Five used cartridges were found on the scene and two projectiles were found in the house.”
The man was booked for a murder charge and detained at Rietgat Police Station. He was expected in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court soon.
