Rapist jailed for life
The convict started raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter in 2014 after he moved into the mother’s house.
A 36-year-old man was jailed for life on Monday at the Ga-Rankuwa Regional Court for the rape of his stepdaughter.
“The evil deeds of the accused were committed between 2014 and 2015 in Sofasonke Section in Klipgat,” said police spokeperson Colonel Emelda Setlhako.
The man was sentenced to three life imprisonment terms and 12 years imprisonment on two attempted rape charges.
“The convict started raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter in 2014 after he moved into the mother’s house,” Setlhako said.
Police said the rapes took place in the absence of the mother.
The acting North West provincial commissioner, Major-General Ntebo Mabula, said he trusted the sentence would serve as a deterrent.
