Protest shuts TUT again

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has shut down again after renewed FeesMustFall protests on campus this morning.
The university was scheduled to reopen after two weeks of an enforced recess.
More protests erupted today before the university announced another shut down.

TUT Pretoria west and Ga-Rankuwa campuses shut down for the day as a result of protest, said spokesperson Willa de Ruyter.
“There is a group of people who burnt tyres and has barricaded entrances to those campuses,” she said.
Ruyter said after assessing the situation, communities were advised to stay away from the institutions for the remainder of the day.
