Blonde ‘drives over’ young man

“My son is bruised and is sore everywhere. The woman drove over him.”

A young man was injured when a blonde woman “drove over” him in Centurion on Thursday.

His mother Yolanda Wallis said the motorist was driving on the wrong side of the road and was not very sympathetic to her 18-year-old son, Frederik Wallis.

“She crashed into my boy and only got out to ask if he was okay before hastily driving off,” Wallis said.

“My son is bruised and is sore everywhere. The woman drove over him.”

Wallis said the woman did alert emergency services.

“My boy called me only after medics had attended to his injuries and was already at home.”

Wallis said his right arm was quiet swollen and he was struggling to move a few fingers.

She said the scooter her son was driving had absorbed most of the impact, sparing him more serious injuries.

“It looked like the woman caught him on his right side.”

Her husband laid a charge with the police on Friday morning.

Wallis said her son could only remember that he was hit by a new shape black jeep and the driver was a blonde woman.

Emer-G-med spokesperson Braam Kruger said the son was treated on the scene on the corner of Ruimte Road and Willem Botha Street.
