Leeuwfontein man shot during house robbery

They took electronic equipment and jewellery.

A 49-year-old man was shot and wounded during a house robbery at his plot in Leeuwfontein, Pretoria North early Thursday evening.

SAPS provincial duty officer Captain Mavela Masondo said three armed men allegedly attacked the victim and shot him in the lower body.

Masondo said the burglars then looted the victim’s house, taking electronic equipment as well as jewellery.

The burglars fled the scene in the victim’s grey Lexus, which was later found abandoned in Mamelodi East, said Masondo.

He said no arrests have been made and the police were still investigating.
